The Israeli film industry:
18 to 24 feature films, 300 hours of TV fiction, 90 hours of documentaries and over 200 commercials are produced every year in Israel. Co-production agreements exist, in particular with France, Germany, the UK, Belgium and Canada. These high-quality productions are exported throughout the world.
Location scouting:
Israel is the ideal location to shoot films set in the Mediterranean or in the Near or the Middle East.
Moreover, a dozen film studios, fully equipped and measuring from 120 to 1,200m² (1,300 to 13,000 sq ft), offer solutions for filming in studio, with set construction and decoration.
Casting:
The quality of Israeli cinema is a testament to its talented actors.
Israel is ethnically very diverse, with a population of Arab, African, Asian and European descent. Many are perfectly fluent in the language of their original countries. Actors may thus be French-, Russian- and Spanish-speaking, or English speakers with English, American or even Australian accents.
Crews:
Israeli film crews speak fluent English and are very used to working with international crews.
Workdays are 11.5 hours per day.
Equipment:
Five Israeli suppliers can provide the latest models of cameras (Arri, Epic, Sony, Canon and Black Magic); grip, electric and lighting equipment; and cranes.
Three digital film labs meet European standards, and work in close collaboration with over thirty post-production companies.
Location/hair & make-up/costume services:
Infrastructures for facilities, accommodations and transportation comply with international standards.
Funding:
Cinema and audiovisual production funds – both national and regional – are available for projects filmed in Israel.
